Hi, I am Adam Clarke, a photographer and archivist working from within the LGBTQ+ community. My practice is grounded in one belief: that existing as an LGBTQ+ person is inherently political. Despite centuries of oppression, we continue to exist and fight for equality across the world. However, queer liberation does not exist in isolation. For it to happen, everyone affected by systemic inequalities must also be free.
Working primarily with 35mm, medium format, and Polaroid film, I take a slower, more intentional approach to photography. This allows me to create photographs that are human, authentic, and based on mutual trust.
The Queer Agenda is a growing visual archive, cultural documentation, and an act of community resistance. Through this work, I celebrate what it means for LGBTQ+ people to live in the North of Ireland, Cornwall and beyond.
To the queer people reading this, I want to hear your stories - whether that be a memory, reflection, or a photograph from your life. Come rewrite the agenda. Your voice matters.
